English Qur'an

As-salaamu'alaykum wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

I have been meaning to do a review on this Qur'an for AGES!!! This is the third English Qur'an I've read...I'm actually reading a fourth translation now (by Mohsin Khan). But I absolutely LOVE this one!!

Title: Qur'an: English Translation
Author: Saheeh International
Available: Free Download Here
Type: Contemporary English

What's it about? For those that don't know, it's the words revealed to Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) by God. It covers what Muslims believe in and practice.

The Qur'an was revealed in Arabic. All Arabic Qur'ans are the same. But you'll find many translations in English (and other languages) and depending on who it's by, the English will be slightly different.

Is it worth reading? Yes!! So very worth it. A lot of us read Arabic but don't understand it. I think you're really, really missing out! I read this through Ramadaan, and it was probably the best thing I did that month. Even if you read a page a day - yes it'll take a long time to finish, but worth your time.

Is the book easy to understand? Definitely!! In fact that's what I love about it. It's the one Qur'an I'd give younger people, new Muslims or non-Muslims to read. It's much, much easier to understand than previous translations I've read.

Out of 5:  5

For those of you that have read this version let me know what you think. If you've read others, let me know which one has been the easiest or most beneficial for you.

Wa'alaykum as-salaam
Hajar, I didn't know there was a Qur'an by a team of sisters.... if you know the name please send it my way? I'll look into it too...very interesting. No, I don't actually know who this one is written by, but there is a collection of Shuyukh so back it up.

Asif, sorry..I have no idea what about the shrine thingy...and your link is not in English so I don't understand it. Sorry.
